HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting

This course is often called Childcare First Aid. It is the course you need to do if you are in childcare, specially designed for people who work with children and babies. It will give you your accreditation for first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis. It is the approved course for educators and childcare workers in NSW.
The course  with the unit code HLTAID012 meets all ACECQA and NSW regulations.

The HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting is a specialised qualification designed specifically for those who work with the most vulnerable members of our community: children and infants. While it covers the standard first aid protocols, it places a heavy emphasis on paediatric emergencies. This includes specialised CPR techniques for infants, recognising the subtle signs of illness in non-verbal children, and managing the high-risk conditions common in schools and daycares, such as severe allergies (anaphylaxis) and asthma.

Course duration

Our public courses do the theory online and spend the class time practising the skills – a face to face practical (5hrs)

Alternatively, you can arrange a class for your group/ workplace etc to complete the theory and practical in a face to face classroom setting. The focus is still on practising the skills, but time is set aside to complete the questions also. (7.5hrs)
