Tailored First Aid

Fiona Taylor BMedSci started teaching first aid on Kangaroo Island back in 2002. There was a need in the community to have a trainer living on the island. Fiona worked with St John and then Red Cross for a decade, training people across the community to deal with an emergency. The training was very practical. An ambulance could be a long while away so the first aider needed to be able to manage until they arrived.

Fiona trained people across all age groups, focusing classes on the likely incidents that might occur and was always very proud of how competent the young people were. So important, especially on a farm, they would likely be the one attending if their parent was hurt.

When the family moved to Adelaide, Fiona continued her first aid training with Red Cross, spending more time with the teaching community, bringing a new focus to her classes. She started a second partnership with Asthma Australia, which she continued for almost another decade, sharpening her knowledge around asthma and anaphylaxis.

A couple of years later, it was time to return to NSW and the family settled on a small acreage out of Bathurst. Fiona continued her working relationship with Asthma Australia and started to work with Royal Life Saving. Tailored First Aid began in 2017 and the first aid training was consolidated under that name.

Tailored First Aid now proudly works in partnership with Royal Life Saving and Allen’s Training to deliver quality first aid training to people across the Central West and Blue Mountains community. The company focus is to stay locally owned and operated, providing first aid training for organisations simply and professionally.
